Introduction to Betty's Poetry Perhaps you clicked this link thinking it must be some kind of joke or hoax. I assure you it is not. You may have heard about Victor the Budgie. He was the "World's Most Intelligent Talking Bird" and had a vocabulary of over 800 words. He was the first budgie to prove that parrots are capable of understanding and talking in context . He also had a natural talent for humour and even story telling. Well, Betty was Victor's mate and he taught her much. Almost imediately after Victor passed away, Betty began talking in a poetic form like no other parrot . She is much harder to understand than Victor, but never-the-less she is talking poetry. It takes a concentrated effort to understand her, but just follow the words I have provided with the recordings and that should help. If you are one of the ones that just can't understand what she is saying, listen to some of Victor's recordings first by clicking here. It takes some people a bit of practice to get adjusted to the budgerigars accent. |
