Why am I here? Part 4-Posted 3 May, 2001

It's not easy for a budgie to decide to bond with people. There are some very complex issues that go on inside thier mind about  love, hate, and trust. They are very sensitive creatures that can even die of a heartbreak if they lose someone they love.

In this one Betty is still torn between loving and hating. At this point I don't believe she understands that there is a middle ground, such as friendship.  She wants to love, but she has been hurt before and she doesn't want it to happen again. She is also feeling guilty that Victor might not like it if she loved people in the same way as him. I recently tried to talk to Betty about the difference between love and friendship and that people don't hate her.  I believe she is responding with this. At one point she decides the only way to find out if really love her is to test me?

You can tell in this one that I had to amplify it in some places more than others to undersatand it better.

Want to know me Dad.
Me here. Me here you.
Don't think that people hate me.
Tell them they hate me here.

Tell them I'm like them.
Think you better test him
Victor, don't want to love him
Betty he  knew you're not like that.
